The Georgia Bombers are making their debut at US Club Nationals — the organization runs teams from 9u through 17u and has been enjoying large turnouts for tryouts while also placing numerous athletes into college scholarships. The Bombers will be expanded to Gwinnett, GA, next season.
Quotes from Georgia Bombers Media Day Session: Jordan Hill, 14u coach: The opportunity to play in this event is awesome; we’re flattered that we’ve even been asked. That’s what gets us fired up, the chance to play against some of the best competition in the country and to see teams we’ve never seen before. We’ve played a ton of teams from all around, but we haven’t seen these teams yet, and we want to see what we can do. I think these boys have been prepared throughout the season for what we are about to throw at them. We’ve learned a lot more from our losses than our victories. When we get an opportunity to prove ourselves in a big situation, we need to step up and do it. Carson Harof, 14u: I’m really excited to play the best teams in the country. We’ve definitely put ourselves in situations where we could do big things, but sometimes we haven’t capitalized. In this tournament, we should be able to do it – hit in the clutch, but play loose. Will Rampher, 11u: It’s really fun to be around the team and not going off on a break – just keep playing baseball. I love being around all these people. I liked (our earlier) trip to Orlando, playing all those teams and being somewhere different, and playing baseball with my friends. Aaron Alvarez, 11u coach: It’s an honor for us to be invited in this tournament, with the caliber of organizations that are in it. For us, being around just two years, we were honored to get the call. I love this age group, and I love working with these guys. This is a time in their lives where we get to watch them blossom into ballplayers. Watching them develop is fun, on and off the field. I love taking this age group in and seeing what they can do nationally. We have no expectations; the big thing is to play ball, play hard and have fun. Jackson Morgan, 12u: This is an opportunity to play good competition in front of other people. You’ve got to do the extra things to help you stand out more, like hustling, do the things other teams don’t do. For this tournament, we are ready to play hard and have fun. Steven Niedrich, 12u coach: We had a good season – we are excited to be here and have some fun. There are some challenges (being a new organization); ultimately, we coaches look for competing every game and having fun. Every single game where they have competed hard is a real growing experience for every single player. Tags: Baseball News, Triple Crown Baseball, US Club Nationals |
